High Infidelity

When L Word fans think of “infidelity,” Shane is the one among this gang who immediately comes to mind. She’s aspired to monogamy several times, but every girl in West Hollywood knows that Shane comes with a big ol’ disclaimer and a lot of baggage—that inability to settle down is one of her most endearing qualities.

Perhaps Bette Porter is the greater offender. To others, she appears righteous, moralistic and a textbook type-A personality—which she is. But Bette would like to think of herself as a devoted and steadfast spouse. Yet, ever since she relieved her seven-year itch by cheating on Tina with a sexy carpenter in season one, though, we’ve been watching her struggle with fidelity. This viewer can’t help but wonder if Bette strayed before we knew her and just happened to get caught that time. Or, did she truly suffer a life crisis because of work stress and the romantic ennui brought on by Tina’s then-submissive, whiny ways?

More time elapses for some than others-Tasha is about to ship off, picking up exactly where we left off and Alice is already feeling bereft of her, that is until that lovely surprise ending. Yay! Though something tells me that's the last of Tasha's happiness for awhile.
